A reminder that we have a great Hollywood Film Festival coming up on Saturday April 2nd starting with the 1950 Bogart film ‘In a Lonely Place’ then the highly acclaimed film ‘Trumbo’.
We have met with Paul from Gatsby to discuss food for the event and I think we will have a really fantastic spread. We are having a mixed buffet to include sandwiches, Glamorgan sausage bites, mini quiches, dips, bowls of coleslaw, potatoes and bowls of pasta for you to graze over. And of course some fruit.
Between the films – to keep that USA feel about the event – we will be having blueberry muffins!
Tickets are £12 for members and £15 non-members inclusive of the food of course.
So book now for what will be one of our best Film Festivals.
The next film screening day organised by the Independent Cinema Office is at The Watershed, Bristol on the 16th to 18th of January 2016.
See the ICO Website for more details and for booking.
The Gwyn Hall in Neath will be home to The International Film Festival of Wales again this year…
Find out more about the festival on the Gwyn Hall Website IFFW 2015 page
The Nottingham ICO weekend
(14th – 16th November) is coming up so we thought we would have our selection meeting straight away after that event.
We have a film on the 17th of November (We Are Many) so we have decided to have the selection meeting at 6:30pm, before the film. As we have not had a committee meeting in a long time we will cover some business as well.
Selection meetings are open to ALL film club members.
If you have ideas about films you want to see this is your chance, it helps if you bring a synopsis etc with you to the meeting so the group can make an informed decision.
Priority is given to films that have been seen by at least one person in attendance at the selection meeting, that way the meeting has first hand experience of the film.
There is an ICO weekend happening on April 18th – 20th, 2015
The event will be at the BFI, Southbank, London
for full details please see
I know that there are a number of members thinking of going.
The cost is £25 for one day, £44 for two, and £60 for all three days.
There is a list of nearby accommodation on the ICO website.
It has been recommended that members book their own places and make their own arrangements for this one, but you will have company when you are there.
If you would like to reach other members why not head over to our Facebook page and join the discussion there:
