MEETING NOTES – Adding value to events

We had a very successful meeting on the 14th of January to discuss and decide on adding value to our forthcoming events. Eight members were in attendance. Here are my brief notes from the meeting, when the minutes are circulated I will update this post.

Pontardawe Film Added Value Meeting 14 Jan 2015

  1. Attending: John (chair), Angie, Jim, Andrew, Emyr, Christine, + two late arrivals.
  2. Apologies: Michelle
  3. Our Programme:
  • In Order Of Disappearance – encourage discussion, table + supply wine (Wine donated by: John {white}, Angie {rose} & Emyr {red}).

  • ‘71’ – we may have skipped this one.
  • ‘Birdman’ – Quiz (Jim, topic superheroes) – Invite members to attend in Superheroes Costumes, Pants on the outside! Quiz Prize: Birdman Film Poster

  • Leviathan – we were going to get back to discuss this but didn’t.
  • Whiplash – Drumkit in the bar, invite a drummer to put on a demo.

  • Testament of Youth – Members bring food (appropriate for film/era) EWM
  • Difret – WoW event – Lady will come with display and to sell Ethiopian Goods AD
  • The Life of Riley – French Farce Improv in bar after? Emyr to research a short script – one scene, get volunteers to act it out after the film. EWM
  • A Little Chaos – DVD Auction (ask members to donate more) EWM/JP
  • Wild Tales – not sure what we decided here…. sorry
  • Last film of the season possibly on the 10th of JUNE. The week beginning the 8th of June, any day that week.
    Andrew to contact High Tide then Dark Horse to check availability of the director to present the film and take Q&A. AM
  1. Shorts: Get a short film for the night of ’71 – get a local film. Let other societies such as the history society/canal society know. AD
  2. Angie has been offered 7 years of copies of “sight and sound” – anybody want them? EWM/JP
  3. MUSIC GRANT APPLICATION: Red Snapper – music/film up to 2 hours… Buster Keyton? Chaplin? Emyr to proceed with grant application regardless of Swansea 3D Animation EWM
